Hi Marion,

perhaps have a look at the manufacturer "Brother". I have a laser printer/scanner/copier from them and they provide Linux drivers on their web site.

I went for a laser printer as I only wanted black/white.

I'm not sure how it all worked out with regard to cost comparisons.
