Hi all

Pretty Please Call for Talks: if you have anything you would like to give a
presentation on, from anything between absolute beginner "hey I just found
this cool thing" to seasoned professional "deep dive with technology X",
all is welcome!

This may be especially great for you if you've never done public speaking
and would like to give it a go. We've always had a friendly audience :-)

You can see a list of example topics here, or suggest your own!

https://gitlab.com/edlug/Meetings/-/wikis/call-for-talks

Some very good ones for beginners:

* Writing in Markdown - how and why
* Mastodon - the FOSS alternative to the birdy microblogging social network.
* Switching to LibreOffice for a month - wins and fails
* AdBlockers - why, what types

Some that could be interesting "intermediate" ones

* Running a home server - game, files, VPN, etc
* The GPL licenses, as well as MIT and BSD licenses - what, why, when
* Use version control for all your projects - introductory session

Also good candidates:

* That new tech thing you found out about last month/year - what it's for,
what you think it could be used for
* That pet project you started, using Open Source components
* A brief history of technology X (FOSS-related)
* etc !

Currently slots are open for October and November 2020, as well as January,
February, March 2021.

Pretty please :-)

Nota: there are no talks in August and December, these are self-organised
socials instead due to the seasonal events in town.
