It looks like the files you already deleted have freed up quite a bit of space.
I use a graphical tool to find out what's taking up disk space: Gnome's 'Disk Usage Analyser', aka baobab: https://wiki.gnome.org/action/show/Apps/DiskUsageAnalyzer
Depending on your distro, this might already be installed, or if not it's probably available for installation.
