Dear all,

The next talk is scheduled for the 7th of May, which also happens to be the
date of the General Election.

As such, voting may be still be happening in the evening, and there will be
a televised count going into the wee hours.... not that I think we'll
notably overlap with any of this, but in case of great enthusiasm/anxiety I
leave it to you to decide:

Should we keep the meeting or cancel it, thereby rescheduling the talk?

(note that any evidently "joke" names will be discounted)

This coming month's talk, should it go ahead, will be delivered by
Jean-Louis Sougné and will be titled:

*'\usepackage[portuguese]{babel}' : how I learned a language (almost)
overnight*

http://edlug.org.uk/node/110

*Jean-Louis Sougé will be giving us his insights into the art of leanring
languages, both programmatic and human (through the examples of LaTeX and
Portugese), and how the two learning processes compare.*

*Jean-Louis is a Franco-Belge signal-processing geek, polyglot, and
integrations support engineer at Adobe, "for his sins."*

*The meeting will be in the back room of the Southsider Pub, West Richmond
Street, Edinburgh. The talk should kick off shortly after 7:30pm. After the
talk, there will be time for socializing, with light bites and a chance to
catch up with attendees.*
