logger hasn't got the correct gateway address on it.<br>
If you can connect locally from the server to it, then it is local
lan, via the net it is through a gateway.<br>

The device is a small data logging (weather) device that's runing
a web server on port 80 (this can't be changed). On the same
network I have a small LAMP server and an IP camera. I can
successfully port-forward to both of these but not the data
logger. The tech support for the data logger manufacturers told
me that since the LAMP server is listening on port 80 then it will
clash with the data logger! This is of course nonsense. I can
connect to the data logger just fine locally.

However, just to indulge the support guys I have tried shutting
down apache on the LAMP server and changing the IP camera’s port
to 81. Still no joy.

I have from the beginning, been able to connect to the logger just
fine by setting up an ssh tunnel into it via the LAMP server.

I ran tcpdump on the server and captured traffic on port 80 going
to the logger both directly (via port forwarding to the device)
and also via the tunnel.

This is where I'm now stumped :(
