So the KDE Connect URL thing (for iTunes) is irrelevant ... unless you're
also going to install it under linux)?


Are you already used to using WINE or is this the first time?  Google suggests
that to run an .exe under Wine should just need a double-click on the .exe /IF/
Wine has been configured to process .exe files, but if not you'd need to right
click the .exe file and choose "run with Wine" (or summat).

I wonder, from a brief look at the description of KDE Connect, at

https://github.com/KDE/kdeconnect-kde/tree/master

if it's intercepting every command to see if it can help (or if that command
was intended for it).  Or it thinks you want to move that downloaded file
to the phone?

If your phone's connected to the laptop at the moment, & you diconnect it,
does KDE Connect still pop up?
