[EdLUG] Kubuntu Desktop broken after 'apt-get dist-upgrade'

Alistair,

As KDE is broken both of you and a new user, it sounds like something
went wrong with the KDE-plasma install.

Run the KDE-plasma part of the install again. Its odd that it will not
start for a new user.

I expect that plasma has its own logs somewhere but as a MATE user, I
don't know what I'm looking for.

Regards,

Roy Bamford.
