Hi all,

I've said I'll take over organising EdLUG meetings for the time being, after Tai stood down. To be clear, I don't think I'm the right person to take EdLUG in a new direction, so if you've got bigger ideas for what the group could be, please step forwards!

Panda has kindly offered us another talk for July, to go further on some of the security points we heard about last time. But we don't currently have a talk lined up for the June meeting, which is 2 weeks away today. This is still going to be an online event.

So: your LUG needs you! :-) Is there something from your personal or professional experiences with Linux and other open source software you could do a talk on? Could you give a guide to Git, or an introduction to Inkscape? Do you have a story of making a computer do something unusual, or of tracking down some baffling bug? Have you tried to live without Google? What's the oldest computer you have still running?

We've got more ideas for talks on the wiki: https://gitlab.com/edlug/Meetings/-/wikis/Call-for-Talks

If any of that catches your imagination, please drop me an email and we can work out how to shape a talk. Also, if you know someone not on this mailing list who could give us a talk, please reach out to them - one upside of moving our meetings online is that we're not limited to speakers who can physically be in Edinburgh.

Thanks,
Thomas
