You need to put a line in /etc/fstab to allow user mount and chown the
mount point to be owner and group of user, also  chmod +rx the mount point
to allow usr writing and directory search.  I initial on my system that
died, I think from heat exhaustion a couple of months ago initially  had
many problems getting these correct, but eventually did it, taking notes,
so that I could create a bash script to replicate the task anytime  I got a
new USB flash.
