How are they connected to your PC?

Internally, they are the same technology as your SSD but the SD card 
interface makes them less than half the speed, at best.

To keep the size and cost down, SD cards may be missing features that an 
SSD has, like trim and wear leveling.

Do some speed tests before you think about how the merge them with your 
SSD. That may indicate that there are areas of your install that they 
are not suitable for.
