Tricky.  Log in as somebody else.  root maybe. Otherwise very difficult.  I use

SystemRescueCD (https://www.system-rescue-cd.org/) but any live CD will allow you to

mount your drive and poke around.

P.S. Things to keep handy:  a usb stick with systemrescuecd on it.
