[EdLUG] Broken screen locker

Good morning,
Installed Kubuntu updates that wanted to restart the PC so restarted then Firefox wanted to restart also and then I came back to this delightful black screen error (see attached ).There's nothing more relaxing than seeing the word "broken" in an error message.

Ctrl + Alt +F2 doesn't do anything.
From what I could see online KDE and Mint do not like each other https://bugs.launchpad.net/linuxmint/+bug/1597719
That forum diacussion is from 2016-2017 btw.

PC went to sleep I moved the mouse and get : "Could not start ksnserver.Check your installation." It's also 15mins behind the correct time for some reason.
Anybody know if this can be fixed at all?
