[EdLUG] Secondary meetup idea | Workshop oriented, family-friendly

Hi all,

This is an idea I am simply mulling over at the moment, and was interested
in some feedback.

I'm looking for people to help start up a secondary meetup under EdLUG's
name, one set on a weekend afternoon in a cafe or other non-licensed
premises, in the form of a Linux and FOSS workshop.

It would be focused more on helping get started / providing help with Linux
setups, and run topical workshops around trying out Linux, using Free
Software alternatives (both on Linux and Windows - for the timid), and
maybe some introductory programming projects for various interests.

It would be thus more aimed at older high-school and uni students, as well
as anybody who'd be interested in learning entry-level activities for Linux.

It could be done on a monthly or bi-monthly basis, depending on volunteer
availability.

Would anybody here want to get involved in such activity?
