An annotation about the when:

October, 22nd is the official date for LPD 2016.2. The reason is that the
traditional Italian event (since 2001!) always takes place on the fourth
Saturday in October.

Like within Germany that does not mean that every event has to be on that day.
Whole countries have postponed it, and we will probably not have (the try of)
Europe-wide dates again because they do not work for too many people.

It is part of the concept that it is not a problem if single locations use a
different event but differing dates should be aftter the main date not before.
The reason is the media. If there is nationwide attention (yeah, that's a big
"if" outside the IT media) then this helps only after the official date, not
before. But here "official date" means: that national one, not the international
one.

As I said there is no national coordination for UK yet. But is seems probable
that there will be a few more locations in UK (I have sent a lot of
emails...). Thus it would make sense for you to consider for October, 22nd and
the following four Saturdays which dates would be good for you so that you are
prepared in case a UK voting about a national dates comes up.
