Hi EdLUG,

I am writing for some advice, but have a preference if someone would be interested in some on-site festive season troubleshooting.

Essentially the problem has arisen because a RAID Component failed on the OVH server.
>> We had to change a RAID Component in the server. Are you able to SSH to it now?
the issue was a hard disk was not detected but the hard disk was okay and it was RAID Card that failed which meant the server lost access to the hard disk.

The configuration is Ubuntu Server 13.04, LXC, nginx
The server has now been restarted. However, there are lxc containers that run independently (three of these), and additional containers that normally run in background screens and share a database/postgres installation in two cases out of three: for example project1 and project1_new, the latter of which shares the postgres installation of project1

I need to
1. restart the independent containers, and perhaps the others. For example restart project1 and perhaps project1_new.
2. I then need to create a new background screen (for project1_new to run in)
3. then ssh to the local ip for project1_new, then run it

This being the Festive season the part-time person who would normally do this is not back for another week.

As I mentioned above, I would have a preference if someone experienced in the above configuration or similar was interested in troubleshooting this issue on-site (George St Edinburgh - very central), at competitive festive season market rates. If so, please email me separately at julie.tolmie at mappingbook.eu

Otherwise I would be appreciative of some advice or some links to do exactly this.

Usually I restart the independent containers (when they are running) and restart the one running in background screens (which are both running, and whose background screens are running), but the event of having everything not running, has rather more variables, and my background is mathematics, not linux server administration.

Thank you in advance
kind regards
Julie
